Archeological Site Lodge Competition. Chichen Itza, Mexico, 2008. Second Prize.
The brief called for the design of a lodging structure in the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, Mexico. Our proposal seeks to have a minimal footprint by reactivivating the site’s own, mostly lost, perimeter wall.  Tall pyramid like periscope structures inspired in architectures found in similar prehispanic densely forested sites serve as markers of the original wall and provide panoramic views  from underneath the canopy.
