Site Hotel (Chichén Itzá, Mexico, 2008)

The brief called for the design of a lodging structure in the archaeological site of Chichen Itzá, México. Our proposal seeks to have a minimal footprint by reactivating the site’s own, mostly lost, perimeter wall.  Tall pyramid-like periscope structures inspired in architectures found in similar densely forested prehispanic sites serve as markers of the original wall and provide panoramic views from underneath the tree cover.
