Orthodox Church Headquarters (Skopje, Macedonia, 2008)

If “God is in the details,” can architecture be all details, no building? The project is an exploration of the relationship between architectural form and semiotics linking religious meaning and geometry. The parti pris is a three dimensional fractal where a cube of half the size of the original is repeated at the center of every face. The simple algorithm produces a geometry rich in effects evocative of Orthodox iconography.
