Bicentennial Plaza (Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico, 2008)

With the purpose of commemorating the centennial anniversary of Mexico’s revolution and the bicentennial of its independence, the project gives up formal originality betting instead for a strong urban strategy. Reorganizing vehicular flows around the site allows consolidating a surface comparable in size to Mexico’s Zocalo--the country’s foremost public space. Located a few hundred meters away from the Zocalo, the proposal aims to create a pedestrian connection that can also be interpreted historically.
